FSSAI Central License Is Lawful clearance Granted By the FSSAI to all Food Businesses Which Have -

Apart From These Essential Criteria, FSSAI Central License Also including The following-

• Dairy facilities produce milk solid having an annual production capacity of 50000 litres to 2500 megaton
• Food processing unit having daily production capacity of 2 megaton
• Processing unit having capacity of producing vegetable oil with a daily production volume of 2 MT
• Slaughter unit having daily capacity of:
  1. 1000 poultry birds
  2. 150 small animals
  3. 50 large animals
• Meat processing unit having daily production capacity of 50 KG or 150 megatons
• Food business are engaging shipping food articles to abroad
• A business dealing with catering service or food marketing must have a yearly turnover of more than Rs 20 crores
• Food processing Unit having a refrigerator facility or cold storage capacity of 1000 megatons or more.
• Food catering services working under the government include seaports, airports, etc.
• Wholesalers involved in the food business must have a yearly turnover of more than Rs 20 crore
• Retailers & distributors of food articles must having an annual turnover of more than Rs 20 crores
• Restaurants and eating houses must have an annual turnover of INR 20 Crore

Some necessary Conditions while Applying To obtain FSSAI Central License are as given below :

• Establishment of Business of Health Supplement and Nutraceutical
• Running restaurant or hotel with 5-star or 7-stars.
• Starting transporting Business with more than 100 vehicles

Following are the list of documents to be submitted at the time of application filing for the FSSAI Central License:

• Form B (duly filled and signed by the applicant himself)
• Detailed Floor plan of the processing or facility, reflecting critical areasand problem solving process.
• Name & the list of machines presently working at the plant;
• In case the applicant is seeking registration for the company, an authorisation letter is required.
• Copy of a trust deed as well as the record of trustees ( if case of registered trust)
• Copy of incorporation certificate, MOA & AOA is necessary in case for application comes from an incorporated entity, such as Private limited(pvt.ltd), Limited liability company(LLP) etc.
• A complete copy of partnership deed copy ,which is reflecting all partners details/ authorisation letter (In case of partnership firm);
• A complete copy of co-operative society deed (In case of co-operative society)
• Registered /Notarized rent agreement with NOC and electricity bill of the business place for an address proof
• Detailed Food Safety Management Plan (FSMS) and blueprint of processing unit
• List of active raw material of suppliers with NOC
• NOC from concerned local authorities related to processing.
• Copy of Tourism certificate by the ministry of tourism (if the registration seeking by hotel owner)
• IEC certificate (Import Export Code) by DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) (if the applicant is involving ship food articles to abroad)
• Declaration in case of if turnover more than Rs. 20 crores.

Simple Steps for Obtaining FSSAI Central License

Step-by-Step processes for obtaining Central FSSAI License are as follows:

Step-1: Submission of Form B

First, the applicant is required to submit Form B with required documents according to the guidelines prescribed by FSSAI authority through fssai official website. While submission , the applicant has to keep turnover criteria in mind.

Step-2: Application Scrutiny By FSSAI Officials

After submission , the application Scrutinizes By FSSAI concerned officials for in-depth . if they are not satisfied with document the raise and objection to complete the documents and any other formalities.

Step-3: Site Inspection schedule By FSSAI’s Official for verify the processing unit

The FSSAI central authority will send the designated officials to verify details that are provided by applicant and determine the level of compliance recommended by FSSAI under FSSAI act, 2006.
Any non-conformity in this regard may increase the chances of application rejection /objection .

Step-4: Approval Of Application And Granting licence

Once the licensing Authority satisfies inspection and documents, authority approve the Application, the certificate issue in a few days. After getting the certification, the business owner can start their business operation .

Note: Displaying the Certificate at The Business Place Is necessary for The License Holder.

The Renewal and Validity of FSSAI Central License

The central license is valid for a period of 1-5 year.Expiry date also mentioned on certificate cum license and its mandatory to renew certificate /license before 30 days of expiry date. If the applicant failed to renew the certificate /license on time in that case the applicant is liable to pay a fine for renewal.

The renewal process for a food license is as simple as applying for a new one . At the time of filing the renewal application, the applicant have to submit the following documents:

• One Passport Size Photograph

• Id Proof such as Pan card, Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, etc.

• Address proof - electricity bills etc.

• Copy of the ownership Deed or Rent Agreement with NOC for proof of ownership
